HIGHLIGHTS IN ECE/CD

Bachelor's Degree in ECE related field:

Classes from San Francisco State University are being offered at Cañada College through the University Center. The Child and Adolescent Development (CAD) Program will offer courses required for a Bachelor's degree.

Home-Based Child Care:

Cañada's ECE/CD Program is offering a Specialized Program in Home-Based Child Care. Courses are available in Spanish and English. Watch the current schedule for times and locations.

  • ECE 201 Child Development (3 units)
  • ECE 313 Health and Safety (3 units)
  • ECE 384 Principles/Policies for Home-Based Child Care (3 units)
  • ECE 386 Activities/Curriculum for Home-Based Child Care (3 units)

ECE in Spanish and the ECE Certficate :

ECE/CD core courses are available in Spanish. By 2005-2006, 24 units of ECE will be offered in Spanish—the 12 unit core classes, and the specializations in Infant/Toddler Development (6 units) and Home-Based Child Care (6 units). The ECE Certificate will be available upon completion of these courses.
