ANTH 180 MAGIC, SCIENCE AND RELIGION

Description: A cross-cultural study of preliterate societies’ beliefs about the nature of reality, and their religious, scientific, and magical practices as a consequence of these beliefs. ANTH 350 INTRODUCTION TO ARCHAEOLOGY

ANTH 360 INDIANS OF NORTH AMERICA

ANTH 370 OLMEC, MAYA, AZTEC PEOPLE AND CULTURES OF MEXICO AND CENTRAL AMERICA

Description: Comparison of middle American civilization as developed through cultures such as Olmec, Zapotec, Mixtec, Maya, Toltec, and Aztec. Emphasis is placed on the analysis and evaluation of the developing Middle America, the impact of the Spanish conquest, the emergence of the mestizo, and the cultural influences still present.
