FREN 110 ELEMENTARY FRENCH (CAN FREN 2) (CAN FREN SEQ A = FREN 110 + 120)

Description: Conversation in the language, dictation, reading, study of the fundamentals of grammar and the writing of simple French exercises. FREN 196 FRENCH LANGUAGE LABORATORY

Description: A program consisting of 25-50 hours of work to be done in the language laboratory emphasizing speaking and understanding French. Transfer: CSU.
FREN 197 FRENCH PRONUNCIATION
Units 3; Class Hours: Minimum of 48 lecture hours/semester; Recommended: Eligibility for READ 836, and ENGL 836 or ESL 400; Prerequisite(s): None. Description: Comprehensive study of the theory and practice of pronunciation of the French language. Practical approach, with an emphasis on much oral work in class and in the language laboratory, to improve the pronunciation skills of those persons who have been, or who will be, exposed to French at some level. Background in French recommended. Transfer: CSU.
FREN 801 CONVERSATIONAL FRENCH I
Units (Grade Option) 2; Class Hours: Minimum of 48 lecture hours/semester; Basic Skills Level: Open Curriculum; Prerequisite(s): None. Description: Practical course in the French language approached by way of conversation. Intensive drill in the formulas and idioms of daily speech is supported with sufficient grammar to give flexibility in the spoken language. (This course does not fulfill language requirement of California State Colleges or at the University of California.) Units do not apply toward AA/AS degree.
FREN 802 CONVERSATIONAL FRENCH II
