Peninsula Cantare Celebrates Haydn With Special Concert
Sunday's concert will be held from 3 to 4:30 in the Main Theater.
Peninsula Cantare recognizes the 200th anniversary of the death of Haydn with one of his late masterpieces, the "Mass in B-flat" (Theresienmesse). The concert will be held on Sunday, March 22 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the Main Theater. Admission is $20 or free for students, staff and faculty.
Four of the Bay Area's most accomplished soloists Shawnette Sulker, soprano; Janet Campbell, mezzo; Brian Thorsett, tenor; and Michael Morris, bass; add their vocal artistry and will thrill you with a solo section. Opening the concert from the Baroque Period is the tuneful and charming "Magnificat," attributed to G.P. Pergolesi.
