Cañada to Host Open House on Health Sciences Degree
The bachelor’s degree offered by Cal State East Bay at Cañada’s University Center will help students obtain a career in health care or help those in the industry advance.
Cañada College and Cal State East Bay will hold a final open house information session to introduce students to the Health Science bachelor’s degree being offered at the Cañada College University Center. It will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 15 in Room 312 of the Cañada College Library. Cañada College is located at 4200 Farm Hill Blvd., in Redwood City. “This is a fantastic opportunity for students who want to enter the health care industry,” said Jeanne Gross, dean of the University Center. “It’s also a good program for people working in health care that are having a difficult time advancing because they don’t have a bachelor’s degree.” All of the courses will be taught at Cañada College by professors from Cal State East Bay and will be offered on-line. Cañada College offers bachelor’s degrees in nursing, child and adolescent development, and business through a similar arrangement with San Francisco State University. “We are always looking for ways to expand the course offerings at the University Center and with the growing demand for health care positions, this seems like a natural opportunity,” said Cañada College President Tom Mohr. Participants at the open house meetings will learn about the program’s curriculum, career pathways, entry requirements, and the learning environment.
