Lecture and Film to Focus on Immigrant and Labor Rights

A preview of the film "Made In L.A." will be shown in the morning and the entire feature film will be shown at 6 p.m.

CaƱada College History Professor Chuck Carlson will discuss immigrant and labor rights as part of a special lecture and preview of the film "Made in L.A." The event will be held at 10 a.m., March 31 in the Main Theater. Made in L.A. follows the remarkable story of three Latina immigrants working in Los Angeles garment sweatshops as they embark on a three-year odyssey to win basic labor protections from a trendy clothing retailer. The film won an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Continuing Coverage of a News Story-Long Form.

The entire film will be shown later that same evening at 6 in the Main Theater.  Both events are free and open to the public to celebrate Cesar Chavez Day.
