The Alternate Media Center, housed within the Learning Center and located in Building 9, Room 215 is part of the Disabled Students Programs & Services at Cañada College. The Alternate Media Center produces instructional materials (textbooks, course materials, schedules) in alternate formats for students with disabilities.

- A computer lab with PCs equipped with specialized harware and software.
- Kurzweil 3000 (scanning/reading software)
The Kurzweil 3000 is available for the visually impaired and students with reading impairments.
- Scanner for student access
The scanner that works with the Kurzweil 3000 allows students to copy and digitize both text and graphics.
- Dragon Naturally Speaking (voice recognition system)
Dragon Naturally Speaking is a speaker dependent, continuous speech recognition system.
- ZoomText Xtra 9 (screen magnification for DOS and Windows)
ZoomText magnifies and enlarges any format on the computer screen.
- JAWS (screen reader for Windows)
JAWS reads and translates words in audio format, available in either a male or female voice, and in a variety of languages.
Alternate Media Services - Obtain, create, and develop alternate media for students (E-text, Braille, Large Print, and Audio Recording).

In order to use the AMC, individuals with disabilities must have basic computer skills and meet DSP&S eligibility requirements.
